About this Website

Tailingua was written by Michael Cannings of Tiong-hô in northern Taiwan. If you would like to get in touch, you can reach me at admin at tailingua.com.

Thanks

This site would not have been possible without generous help from many different people, in particular Ng U-leng for linguistic advice and proofreading, Malcolm Higgins for PHP/CSS help and troubleshooting, and Mark Swofford both for sound technical advice and more importantly the inspiration to put this together in the first place.

Stuart Morrow was a great help in overhauling the look of the site - for reference the previous incarnation looked like this (and had horrible coding to boot).

Technical details

The code was written in Smultron on a Mac. Best results for viewing this site are obtained with Opera/Firefox in OS X, and Firefox for Windows and Linux machines, although all other major browsers should work fine or with very minor issues.

Every page is written to HTML 4.01 Strict standards and can be validated by clicking the HTML 4.01 image at the foot of each page. The only exception is the News section, which is based on Wordpress and written to transitional XHTML standards. The CSS used also conforms to W3C's standards.
